The Great Atlas of the Stars
A gorgeous, breathtaking addition to your astronomy library. It's not just beautiful, but an actual reference work. The large (10.5" x 14"), low-power photographic images of 30 constellations - all visible in the northern sky -- are stunning. The spiral binding allows the pages to lay flat, and a clear overlay of constellation lines and object labels is available for each image. The facing page contains a schematic diagram of objects in the photo, seasonal observing advice, and close-up object images. Even knowledgeable amateur astronomers are stunned at the clarity of the images and their effect of orienting faint nebulae in relation to the star field. Reviewers agree that this is a functional and attractive reference book, an inspiration novice or advanced amateur astronomers, and a great gift.
